Colour Scheme Studies - Part 2

As in the previous post, I continued with my experiments with colour schemes, I have included the studies below and have explained which colour scheme has been used for each.

This study used a square tetrad which I felt worked for this piece as it seems to represent the sky and flowers.

This piece uses double complementary as the scheme, which I think is very dramatic, as it’s double complementary it feels more usable than just complementary.

This colour scheme is a diad, two colours close to one another but not directly next to each other.

Today I wanted to continue work on my essay, starting off I made some further notes on Framed Ink as I knew there were multiple sections I wanted to go over within the essay. Below are the notes I made while reading.  The book introduces some core things to bare in mind when trying to create narrative art: What are we trying to tell the viewer? What mood do we want the viewer to be in? What function does it serve? How can the viewer be brought there? What in the art is contributing to what we want to tell the viewer? What can we leave out without changing what we are trying to say? Researching How to Create Prop Concepts

Before creating my own concepts for props, I wanted to get an understanding about how artists create this kind of concept art. While it is still within the same type of work, as the subject is different I wanted to see what changes in the concepting process. Research into Concept Art - Part 3

Looking at portfolios Portfolio 1 Artist:  Loiza Chen Position:  Art Lead at Riot Games Link:   https://www.artstation.com/loizachen Accessed on:  27/01/24 I think the work Riot’s artists do is incredible, so getting an insight into some of the concept art behind their characters was really interesting to see. I took a look at the concept art Chen did along with other artists for a cinematic. The Tryndamere concept art was interesting to look at, I have included an image here; Here multiple views of the character are shown, even a crouching pose, which helps to display how this outfit would react to movement. The weapon is shown from multiple angles which again is useful information for a 3D artist to work from. There is also a breakdown of the helmet from various angles. Chen also shows work by TUANZ, another concept artist on this project; These small sketches seem to experiment with hairstyles, face details and masks that this character could wear.
